Just saw a TV news story about how these are used against drivers in the event of an accident.
Do S70's have edr's and if yes, where is it located and can it be disabled?

Many cars do have these and they can be used in court cases to refute your testimony. Most record the speed of the car, record when the brakes were applied, and sometimes whether the seatbelt was on for 20-30 seconds prior to airbag deployment. I saw this used in a negligent homicide case to convict the driver. Driver maintained that she was observing the 30 mph speed limit but couldn't stop in time. The event recorder showed speeds of over 50mph and that brakes were never applied prior to impact.
