Squeaky clutch pedal S60 2001

In the last couple of months, the clutch pedal in my car has started squeaking. More like a creak or a groaning sound as I depress and release the pedal. It seems to be in the pivot (I'm 98% sure it's inside the car), but I'm not completely sure. Spraying silicone lubricant and white lube up there on a few different occasions has not really helped.

I really need to take the lower panel off to see what I'm doing, but before I do that, I'd appreciate input from anyone who can help.

The cold air is coming real soon, so drop that panel under the steering wheel. Clean off the shaft and oil the joints and shaft with 3in1 oil - light machine oil or 5W30.

Thanks, Klaus, for the prompting. Yeah, there is no shortcut. I'd better get to it before the garage floor gets too cold to kneel on.
