Bump in the Night (and day) S80 2003

I have a small "thumping" sound located in the rear of my S80. Not very loud but definitely there. At first I thought it was the tailpipe, but it is secured. It sounds much like the spare tire bouncing, but not that either. I've checked all the panels underneath, physically removed everything from the trunk and still get the thump whenever I run over a bump in the road.

Any ideas what might be causing it? I've had one suggestion that it might be a baffle in the gas tank.

How about the battery or something in the plastic storage thing by the spare tire ?

Check your sway bar bushings located near your back tires. they can go and
cause a real lite bumping sound. Had them changed in my s-80 and in wifes
toyota avalon. Just a thought.
