Aftermarket Radio Static 850 1994

Is there anything tricky about installing aftermarket radio in an 850 Wagon with in-glass antenna?

After having stolen aftermarket radio replaced with another, am getting static on most fm stations that makes listening a chore. No problems on AM or with prioraftermarket unit. New radio is Eclipse, same as previous, but a lower end model with removable face.

Installer had to "hardwire" as he did not have a volvo compatible plug. None of the wiring appeared to be damaged by clean unplug theft of previous unit.

I would check the antenna plug at the back of the unit. Make sure the installer didn't plug it into the CD plug. Also make sure the antenna plug is snug.
