Code PO500 850

I recently had the arrow light and the check engine light start flashing me, my code reader came up with po500, which indicates a speed sensor which is located in the tranny block in my 1997 850R. I had replaced this a little over a year ago which At that time solved the same problem. Well I replaced it again and was surpised it had to be replaced again so soon. Well this time it did not stop the light from flashing. Do I need to replace something else.

Did someone working on the car disturb the wiring and not restore it properly?

P........that sounds like a huge pile of BS to me........! I might believe one wire somewhere but the whole damn harness? Come on. Was your car hit by lightning or did you drive through the Northern Lights?
