breather box seals S80 2001

I noticed a slight oil leak and had a volvo dealer check it out and they told
me that the seals on the breather box were bad and needed replacing. Is this a
job that should be done by a volvo tech? Or can I have a regular mechanic do
the job. How much am I looking at for the repair

Based on the 850, I would guess a complete cleanup of the system would be about 2-2.5hr of labor and about $120-150 for all parts (oil sep, hoses, clamps, etc). I think any normally skilled shop should be able to do this.

If you're talking about the oil separator under the intake, don't bother with so-called seals, just replace the whole box, or was he talking about the PCV system as a whole? If so, it's the breather box (oil separator) and all of its related hoses and the PCV nipple (where it could leak if clogged) at the base of the air intake hose. These should be clean and not clogged.
