Head gasket maybe????

I have a bad oil leak. I know you where thinking antifrezze BUT I will try to explain. standing on the Passenger side looking to the back of the motor I see a oil stream going down the back of the block. if you follow the fuel line down, and follow the hose for the water bottle it connect to a metel tube that goes to the motor and uses two 10mm bolts to atatch to the block. the oil stream comes from under there. I know this is tough but this is my best to explain. I'm losing no antifrezze as of yet, but have no idea where oil could be coming from. Thanks in advance for your help. 2.4 95 850GLT 186,000 miles.

    Head gasket maybe????

Remove the plastic cover over the ignition wires (6 torx bolts) and also remove the plastic upper timing belt cover (remove 12 mm bolt then slide the cover direct up.

You may be able to see where the oil is coming from. You may find that a camshaft oil seal, the oil filler neck, or the oil vapor tube is leaking. Also look at the rear (drivers side) of the engine where the cam position sensor is. The oil may be traveling some distance from the point of the leak to where you are seeing it.

If your crankcase vent system is clogged you will need to clean it very thoroughly as this can cause lots of pressure which will force oil to leak.

YES Thank you. I was looking at MY Haynes book and a better way to describe this would be the stream is coming from under the coolant pipe flange to the rear of the cylinder head. thumbing through the book I saw the two cam seals. I will do what you suggest thanks for the help I will post the results again THANKS........
