S70 new rotors S70

Does anyone know if there is something on the web to show u how to remove the front rotors? I have a S70 GLT and i read that if your on your 2nd set of brake pads then when they are gone u have to get new rotors because they will be too thin. But just being a newbie at this, i am wondering ...now how do you get those things off? Looks hard.

Note: I went to www.volvospeed.com and they had a nice tutorial with pictures that helped getting off the old brake pads and getting new ones on. I was looking for something like that...but for rotors.

Andrew

After the caliper is hung from the strut spring, with care, and the 10mm guide pin has been removed, the rotor can be removed. If it doesn't want to come off, it is because it is rusted to the hub! Banging with a hammer usually is enough to loosen it, but you may need to apply liberal amounts of PB Blaster between the rotor and the hub to help things along.
Use a wire brush to remove any residual rust from the hub before installing the new rotor. Tip: clean the side of the rotor facing the engine with brake cleaner before mounting the rotor. Then clean the outside after the guide pin is installed. Greasy finger prints are not allowed!

Rotors are easy...once you get the brake caliper out of the way and the little guide pin on the rotor unscrewed and out (the one that allows the wheel to only go on a certain way) hit it with a mallet and it will pop right off. Nothing is holding it on except the guide pin and the wheel bolts.

Rotors are only easy if your roads aren't salted in the winter. As Klaus said, it may take a lot of PB Blaster. In my case, lots of PB Blaster spayed down the cooling vents of the rotor and about a three hour wait before the rotors would finally come loose and then with a fair amount of hammer banging on the inside of the rotor edge (didn't want to screw up the rotor surfaces in case I couldn't get them loose).
