V70 98 T5 some switch's lights on the dash board V70-XC70 1998

I've just bought 98 V70 T5 and i found that the dash board lights on "Defrost" and "rear fog ligths" switches are not ligthen up when the car head lights are ON (presume the dash bord lights are ON) - is this normal or both the bulbs are gone? It is hard to see in the dark where are those switches

BTW both the swithes are working fine and their ligths are up when they are ON.

Thanks
Kamen

This is easy and inexpensive to fix. You will need to pop each switch out by pushing out from the rear or gently from the front with a small screwdrive. I always wrap the screwdriver with shipping tape so that it does not scratch the dash. Then you have two options. You can go to the dealer and buy the bulb assembly which I believe are about $7-$8 dollars each or just buy the bulbs at radio Shack (about 75 cents each in a pack of two). If you decide to buy from the dealer, take the old assembly with you as there are two sizes and the dealer will not know which size each switch will require. The radio shack bulbs are the Microlamp 12volt. I do not have the stock number handy. Just remove the old bulb from the assembly and wrap the new bulb wires the same way that they were originally wrapped.
