I have moved to Western Massachusetts in Amherst/Northampton area. I now need to find a good independent place to service my two Volvos. If anyone knows a of a good place in the Pioneer Valley, please let me know.

I own 3 Volvos, and all of them get serviced at Walt's Brothers Auto Repair at 855 Elm St, West Springfield 01089 - Phone 413-736-1878 ask for Jack he is the primary Volvo Mechanic and one of the Walt's brothers.
You can also use Performance Motoring 315 Russell St. Hadley, MA 01035 - 413-584-6090... I hear that they are good also.

Thanks. Do you know if these guys are mostly oriented towards newer/FWD/AWD like Performance Motors in Hadley or towards all and any Volvos? Besides the '98 S70 I also have a 940 Wagon with 190K miles that needs some looking at. I do most of the maintenance myself on both cars, but certain things I need help with.

Both places will handle all of the Volvos regardless of model or year.. Like i said i'm more familiar with the Walt's Brothers place only because i go there more often since it's closest to me. I live in Ludlow. Walt's brother's place is ownwed by two brothers one works on Volvos primarily and the other on Saabs... but they have other mechanics that will work on BMW'a Audi's and Mercedes also.

I live in central massachusetts (worcester area). This is a longshot because it will be a bit of a hike for you but there is a guy in Westminster, MA that I have taken my 240, 740 and s70 to. Its "Hal Smith Engineering" and I have always been very satisfied with his work and found him to be the most honest mechanic I have dealt with. In perspective from Greenfield you would be looking at a little over an hour and half to westminster via route 2. Good luck.
