timing belt S80 1999

Can anyone advise how I can tell whether my 1999 s80 timing belt is the original or has been replaced. There is no sticker on the cam belt cover. Are there any markings on the cam belt that would indicate it is still original.

Odometer is approaching 100K.

Thanks Mort

If you have 100K on your car, i will say it is the original T-belt, Volvo replacement for t-belt is 105K..

better safe than sorry (and change the tensioner, too).... S80 1999

I take it that you're not the original owner.

If a local dealer can't find the records, I would surely replace it to be safe rather than sorry -- the engine is an interference type, which means BIG bucks if it goes! And also, replace the tensioner as well (don't skimp on pennies), as I've heard it's an unreliable part and apt to cause an otherwise still good belt to fail.

    Good luck.

It is probably the original. The belt is scheduled to be changed at 105K along with the tensioner. There are no markings on the belt.
