Valve on side of turbo 850

Does anyone know what the vacuum controlled valve on the side of the turbo is called, and where I can get a replacement? I have been searching the web for hours and I cannot locate one. It is on the engine side of the turbo (air inlet side) and is fastened to the turbo body with three bolts. A small vacuum hose connects to it. It's a real bear to get off, but doable. I recently discovered that this is the source of my misterious vacuum leak and CEL that I have been trying to track down.
Hope someone can help.
Thanks for replies.

    Hello,

If I understand correctly, you are referring to the blow-off valve (compressor bypass valve). When you are under heavy boost and close the throttle suddenly (such as during shifting with a manual transmission), all of that built up boost pressure has nowhere to go. This valve opens and releases the pressure back into the inlet side of the compressor. If you need, I can check on a price here at the dealer. Let me know if I can help with anything else.

P.S. - For what it's worth, I have never seen one of those leak. I have, however, seen many fresh air hoses leaking at the PCV nipple...

      Thanks Joe,
I contacted the local dealer and they can get the "Repair Kit" for $201. This car has 240K miles on it and I plan to dump it soon.
What would the impact be if I just disconnect the vacuum line and plug the port in the manifold? The dump valve would never open, but this as an automatic and I never push it very hard. The wastegate is still functional.
All I really need is to get the CEL to go off so I can pass NY inspection.
I think I will give it a try. I just completed a rebuild of the PCV system, purge valve, and installed a new alternator and battery. It's been a good car but starting to get expensive to keep going.

        Hello again,

What is the code that you have? I don't suppose that there would be any real consequence if you plug the port, as the older turbo models had no bypass valve to begin with (my 240 Turbo doesn't have a compressor bypass valve, for example). Anyway, give it a try.

        Good Luck,
