S70 trans faults S70 2000

Had this car come in today with overshift light flashing and CEL on. Felt like it was stuck in winter mode but tapped on switch and car started to drive normally but the fault lights were still on. Pulled 1 code from ECM 530d which just means that the trans has requested the ECM to turn the CEL light on,and 3 codes in the TCM,haven't seen these ..Yet. P0734 gear ratio fault in 4, TCM000b, TCM 000c, which are hyd. faluts for Sol. #1&2. Are these a trans condeming faults or gummed up solenoid valves? Thanks for the help, Alan

    Immediately flush the tranny and replace the W switch. With both solenoids pulling a fault, I would suspect the car has been driven in winter mode for a long time and cooked the fluid.
    The improper gear ratio fault is common and probably be ignored.

    If the flush doesn't work and the 000b and 000c come back, I am afraid it is over.

      Good Morning Klaus,

      Thanks for the helpful info I'm going to do some testing w/the Vadis on the solenoids as well. I noticed while on a test drive yesterday that I could hit the "W" switch and get the trans in and out of Winter mode but did not notice and ind. showing that in fact I was in Winter mode. Is that because of the trans shift light is flashing? Thanks again, Alan

        When in "W", the shift arrow is supposed to be on and the small light on the button is also supposed to be lighted. Because of the other errors, the flashing arrow will override the constant arrow.

          Back again,

          ok, tested the solenoids 1 & 2 and could here clicking and whatch them being switched on and off through Vadis, did the same for the SL and STH solenoids, but Did Not hear any clicking on either of these but,Did see the SL solenoid switch On and Off w/Vadis. I am supposed to hear them click as well.
          Could this be the problem even though no fault codes for these items were listed??
          Fluid does need to be changed, and the three codes that were set are now cleared but have not had a chance to go drive again yet. Alan

            Even if the tranny were almost destroyed, I would flush it for a chance that that will fix it. Mobile 3309 fluid, right?
