I am looking for a caliper rebuild kit for my 99 v70.Any Idea where I can purchase one and what should the kit include. I usually just purchase rebuilt calipers but I have heard of rebild kits avaialble. Thanks

    I've only rebuilt a brake caliper from a light plane, but it is the same principle. The kit is nothing more than a rubber seal, o-ring, and piston(optional). After you pop out the piston, check for rust and corrosion, clean the assembly then re-ring it and replace the rubber seal. 30 minutes max!

    On my 850, however, I bought rebuilt calipers from FCPgroton, but the pistons were in worse condition than the original ones from my car. They were pitted from corosion. I would have rebuild them if I had the time.

    People I've talked to say it's no more economical to rebuild them due to the likelihood of failure and having to spend time and effort to redo.

    I've had 1 or maybe 2 rebuilts fail early but then the burden is on the vendor or shop, not you.


    The volvo dealer I buy parts from doesn't offer a rebuild kit, only the rebuilt caliper.

    This isn't the Chris Marion that went to Cortland State and ran for Jack Daniels...is it? IF it is let me know. Sorry I can't help with the rebuild kits. I get my brake parts from www.fcpgroton.com.
