short term approach for clogged pcv

When I can get the cash together I am planning on replacing the breather box on my 850, hoses, etc. I can't really do the job in my condo carport, so I have to take it to my indie. The car is smoking a little out of the dipstick. Until I can do it right, is there anything that can be done in terms of clearing buildup in the hoses? A local indie volvo shop here says that they can reroute some of the hoses to restore vacuum, but this seems a little dubious. And they told me NOT to blow compressed air since it could lead to disconnected hoses, etc. I will get to doing the whole deal asap, but I'd like a band aid if there is one.

Thanks!

Paul
