I drove through a big puddle and my warning lights when crazy. 850 1995

Gee I don't know how deep the water was - 6 inches , 12 inches?

Coming out of the puddle many of those red warning lights either went on - or started to glow. After a mile they started to go out. I drove an extra 5 miles to dry things out.

The oil looks good - I was starting to wonder if I contaminated something - like 5 speed lube. I was in and out of that water quickly although it seemed like forever.

Does the 850 have a week spot that I should check when you turn it into a boat - for example a huge air vent for the transaxle? I'm probably overreacting - but it was startling to have those lights come on. I must have got some water into a wiring loom. I did see the car before me make it through the water - so I figured it was OK.

That is an exciting thing, isn't it? The first time mine did it I was quite astounded. Now I just expect it, or better yet I try to avoid deep puddles. Lights up like a frigging Christmas tree, but the engine keeps running. Seems counter intuitive at first. No big deal.

Water got all over the serpentine belt and let it slip. Alternator, et al, stopped spinning and all of the lights came on. You ran on battery power until the slipping stopped. No real harm.
Check under your car and see if there is a splash shield or air guide, from the bumper back to the oil pan. If not, get one. Junk yards have them. It keeps the water from hitting the S belt.

There is an upgraded pulley cover and belt that you need, mine used to do that too

hope that helps

Think the part is called the linear seal, and you will need a new belt & routing technique, part # 9154415

Not really a concern, but I used to live in Houston and there frequent downpours left a lot of big puddles. Only thing that used to bother me enough to fixit was the fact that you loose powere steering. Had the it done, and
haven't had any issues

Hope that helps
