The key in my V70 wouldn't turn. After forcing it, it just goes around with some effort. I took apart the ignition switch and can start the car, but the steering is still locked. The cable will not release from the ignition cylinder. Any help would be appreciated. The car is on the street and I can't turn to get it in the driveway. Thanks,

    The whole ignition assembly needs to be replaced. I just completed one on my 2000 S70. You will need to order it from Volvo, cost for mine was $170. Here is a link to instructions. http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/index.php?showtopic=79518

    A right angle 3/8" drill with a short drill bit will make the job easier. When drilling don't worry about destroying the old assembly.

    One note; The instructions refer to the Torx bits as 20mm, 25mm, 30mm etc. They are really T20, T25. T30 bits. I had to buy a set of bits at NAPA and use them in a 1/4" socket. The one needed to remove the air bag (T30) must be at least 1.5" long.
