Driver's door lock S70

Hi, I was wandering if anyone encountered the same problem: the drivers door would only get unlocked using the inside handle or key, the central lock button would unlock all doors except the driver's one. It will lock it, but won't unlock. Any ideas, please?

Sounds to me as if the solenoid that pushes the lock mechanism into the unlocked position may be going bad. I'm sure it's one solenoid that pushes and pulls. Maybe the push or pull side is going bad. I really have no idea as to how the locking system works and what the components are, but that would make the most sense to me. Maybe check the solenoid. Any help here guys. am I close?

There is an evil red plastic piece inside the lock assemmbly that breaks, and disables the function of the lock. I recall seeing a post years ago detailing fabriication of a replacement piece, but it was labor intensive. Quickest easiest solution is replacement of the lock assembly.

I have the same problem on my 1998 V70 on the drivers door, checked it out but both coils are working, looks like some linkage or spring is broken, but cannot find anything in the bottom of door.
