timing belt -- what other parts when changing V70-XC70

I have come to my comfort level with the timing belt on my wife's 2000 V70. It is about to turn 90K and that is enough for me. While I am there, is it a good idea at this mileage to go ahead and change the water pump and front seal? Of course I will put a new tensioner and drive belt while there. How long do those Hepu OE waterpumps last usually? Any advice on this is appreciated. Gene

I recently did this on my 98 V70 at 138.5K mi. TB, hydr. tensioner, both tensioner idlers, water pump, front crank seal and both camshaft seals. My indy charges $85/hr for shop time and at 5 hrs, it came to $480 something just for labor. I ordered the parts from fcp groton.

A few days later, the new front crank seal began leaking, and I incurred another 2 hrs labor to fix it. The problem was with the new seal, not my mechanic or installation of it. But I wasn't happy about a defective new seal!

The water pump was original and still looked brand new, no leaks either. The hydr tensioner had a "little" oil leaking from it. The TB had been in there for 6 years and 78K miles and showed little signs of wear (no missing teeth, etc.)Both idlers were also fine.

I believe your car has the mech tensioner, which is replaced at every belt change.

Good luck

Hi, I've two 850s -94 with 130k and 160k on the clock. First change was TB only, second TB+ideler+tensoiner pulleys. original seals and hydraulic tensioner.
As the one having 130k gave occasionally sqeek-sound when cold starting I also changed the waterpump at 130k but couldn't find anything doubtful in the original.

I have a 1998 V70 with 246k. I have changed the timing belt four times now, replaced all the rollers at 170k, but still have the original seals, water pump, and tensioner (hydraulic).
