Turn Signal Stalk Failure. Anybody else had a problem? V70-XC70 2001

I believe Volvo has a problem with their turn signal stalks. I had one replaced on a 2001 XC about 3 years ago with about 70k. My T5 needs one at 150K. My son's S60R had to have one replaced at 15K. The stalks cost about $125 plus labor to have them replaced. May be if enough of us have had them replaced Volvo might do something.

One failed on an 850 at 200K. Easy replacement as Klaus said. Other S-70's have had no problem at 115K.

It is an easy DIY replacement. Look around in the online part suppliers for a steeply discounted price. Just make sure it has CC on it.

My 850's broke, but the others keep working. Just lousey quality control at the pot metal factory.

The 164 has a new home, all I am left with are a 95 854T and a 98 V70R :)
