no start, one time spark 1985

I replaced a bad intake manifold gasket and had the injectors rebuilt on a 1985 745 Turbo B230. Also spliced in new wiring to the injectors. Car ran fine before the work but didn't pass the WA state emission test because it ran too rich, possibly due to the leak in the manifold gasket. When it was reassembled it wouldn't start. If I check the spark at #1 plug there is a single spark when I first turn the engine over, then no further spark although the engine cranks strongly. The coil checks out OK on the primary and secondary wires. It has the recommended ohms readings, but I replaced it anyway with a used but newer coil which also had the recommended ohms readings. Could I have missed a ground connection somewhere that is causing this problem, or is it more likely to be in the distributor due to a faulty Hall connection?

Do you have a flywheel position sensor? This is the symptom that I got when mine was bad - one spark.

Have you checked the FAQ?

Check the wire connector where the wire enters the dizzy. Your symptoms do sound like a Hall problem. You may just want to take the dizzy out and spin it by hand, checking the Ohms. You can check the resistor at the same time and grease the shaft.

BUT, you posted this on the AWD/FWD side and not too many here know what a hall sensor is. Try moving/copying your post to the RWD section.
