Hub replacement - OEM, aftermarket? 850 1995

Looking for advice on front hub replacement, specifically any feeling about aftermarket hubs. FCP has the Volvo hub with bolts and axle nut for $159 and the aftermarket + bolts is about $115.

Thanks in advance. Don '95 854T 184k

Yes, when I did mine, I didn't have it as tight as it should of been and the anti lock's were coming on and off. good luck

I found a fair amount of corrosion on the inside edge. I used a brass wire brush to clean it up. The new one fell right in, and the fit on the bolts was so loose I could screw them all the way in by hand. It was dreamy after breaking the bolts loose and tapping the old hub out.

I tightened the beJesus out of the bolts - I think bay13 says 49ftlbs, or around that. Thanks again for the advice.

ps It must have pretty much s***** to have to take it apart to tighten your hub up - my condolences.

I used their bearing a year plus ago and it works just fine. Appeared to be good guality. I would suggest to go for it.

Hi Dick. I assume you mean the aftermarket when you say "their". Thanks for the reply. I'm hoping the axle comes out of the hub easily as it was replaced 1-1/2 yrs ago :D

Sorry, that is what I meant. I did use the aftermarket bearing and it is smooth. It should be easy to take apart this time. I have said more than a few words over some of those axels.

Make sure the new hub is tight when you install it. If the Anti-lock brakes start acting up , you'll know it isn't in all the way .

Hi Paul. Since I haven't done this before, I am trying to imagine what your warning means. Are you saying make sure I have the hub seated all the way - I assume the four torx head bolts hold it in, and maybe corrosion or other debris or just fit may prevent it from seating completely with ease? Thanks for your reply. Don
