convertible sunvisors C70 2001

I own a '01 C70 that I purchased about 2 yrs ago. Shortly after buying the car, I replaced both of the sunvisors since the sliding vanity mirror lights did not work.
Recently both of the lights that illuminate the sunvisor mirrors quite working. I have been told that it is not the bulbs, but the microprocessor that is bad and again I need to replace the visors which are out of warranty.
Has anyone owning a C70 had this unhappy experience? If so, is there any way to repair these visors? Thanks, Fred A. Schertenlieb

Fred,

First question is, Did they both stop working at the same time?

These visors on convertibles are very problematic. The tend to break at the mounting point near the rear view mirror. If you look carefully you will see what I'm talking about (if this is the problem).

There is good news, sometimes this can cause the fuse to blow, and prevent both from working. However you need to replace the visor if this is the case.

B

Dear B, good question, I forgot to mention that they quite working at different times, several weeks apart. I was hoping that there might be a way to repair the broken connection since I think that with use the wiring within the mounting rod is severed
I will check the fuse but I believe that I am looking at two visors that work in the day and not at night. Fred.
