Rough Idle 'Idler Motor' V70-XC70 1999

Took my V70 in for (hopefully) a warranty replacement of the throttle body. No luck. My rough idle 620A is apparently traced to the "Idler Motor." Or that's what the dealer description says. Also says it'll be $475 to fix it. So I go to look up an Idler Motor for the 1999 V70 in alldatadiy.com and there is no Idler Motor!

When I left the dealer, they also said it may be called an IAC motor. But, I found threads on google that say there is no IAC because it has an electronic throttle control.

Could this also called the Idle Control Valve?
AND, where the heck is it located?
I can't find it in diagrams and I'd like to replace it myself.

Any wisdom would be appreciated.

it's your electronic throttle module, has recall, bring it back to the different dealer

I don't know if your car has an IAC valve - I wouldn't expect to find one on a car with ETM. However on 2 cars I've had with them, one a Ford and one an older Volvo, the IAC valves eventually got some carbon and gunk in them. On the Ford the idle speed was too high, the Volvo had a rough idle. Cleaning gently with solvents corrected the problem in each case. For cars with a mechanical throttle plate checking/cleaning the throttle bore is often helpful. It seems the ETM must have a throttle plate and bore of some kind that could get dirty, even though the control is electronic.

The IACs I've seen look like a small motor with a connector at one end. There are either 2 hoses - letting air in and out or they are attached directly to the intake manifold near the throttle plate - and the manifold is bored out with small passages that let air around the plate (via the IAC).

The Electronic Throttle Module (ETM) normally makes the need for an idle valve unnecessary. But, I think there are some cars that have the "Denso" system that uses an Air Bypass Valve of some sorts. It's been awhile since I've seen one, maybe someone will have more info.

      Thanks!
I went back to the dealer today, they were cool about it.
They called it the wrong thing.
There is an ECV valve on this thing.
      Volvo $372, OE $135!
      I'll try cleaning it first.

Again thanks and I'll post if it works.
