After draining the treasury to have the AC in my 96 850 restored to working order, I have an occasional knock in the driver's side dash when turning.
I have twice removed the knee panel and found nothing loose, and I now believe that the diverter flap in the ductwork was disconnected from its motor and is flapping back and forth loose. Sometimes there is airflow, sometimes not, with no change to the thumbwheel.
Does this sound plausible? Is there an accessible connection to the motor, without removing the dash (other than the knee panel)?
