charcoal canister 850

Hi,

I changed my charcoal canister and my question is do i need to change the canister valve w/c accordng to the Haynes manual in an integral part of the canister and need to be replaced along w/the canister?

Where is this valve located and how to change it?

Car has poor idle and stalling after replacing the canister (used). Is the used canister bad or i did somethign wrong. I followed connections of the control hoses/connections.

Thanks a lot.

Is this the evap purge valve you are talking about? It is mounted over on back of the radiator housing. I believe there is a connection between the canister and the valve, so just follow the hose into the engine compartment and upwards 10 inches or so, and you should find the valve. Mounts to the housing with two torx bolts, I think. The valve is $110-125, not cheap. I got a procedure for testing from someone here, and mine tested ok. Haynes may describe a testing procedure.

I don't think there is a valve in the canister. I hope what I mentioned is what you seek.
