Anyone who might know how to disable the DRL on 1998 S70 Canadian model? I am planning to install a set of aftermarket HID, but I would like to disable the DRL before installing it. Thanks.

You will need to purchase a USA spec headlight switch. Finding one from a junk yard would do nicely. The little screw on the face of the switch plate turned to 11 o'clock will disable the DRLs.

Canadian law requires the use of DRLs, it is just too bad that Volvo sought to be cheap and use headlights/tail lights instead of a separate lights. No wonder that the light bulbs burn out so fast, and the battery is slow to recharge.

Hey there...long time no see! Been busy over on Matthews.

I read somewhere that there is a toggle switch on the inner side of these Canadian switches. Would be worth prying it out to see. If there is one, just flick it the other way and your DRL will be off.
