Service indicator lamp V70-XC70

I have a 1998 Volvo V70 T5 and every 5000 miles I get a service indicator lamp letting me know the oil needs servicing. I would like to find out if there is a way to reset this item without having to go to the Volvo dealer or perhaps purchasing the reset module (quite an expence) that someone may know. I've tried a few things listed online having to do with resetting the trip and turning on the ignition however, these suggestions don't work in the slightest.

Thanks very much,
Can't wait to here from a real expert!

Welcome to the 1998 Volvo. The service light cannot be reset without spending money. You could get a piece of black plastic tape and cover it. Or be like MIJ and myself and use it as a reminder to not use the turbo until the light goes off :) Or, when it is time to replace some other bulbs in the cluster, just remove the darn light.

    The 164 has a new home, all I am left with are a 95 854T and a 98 V70R :)
