Help-Reverse Broke 850

95 850, horrid blinking arrow on instrument cluster. No reverse, limp home mode,
I think. Feels like it starts in second, and does not want to upshift.

    Your 1995 has a diagnostic box hanging off the computer box on the right front fender. Check your codes, now. It could be as simple as a new PNP switch.
    If you cannot find the definition of the codes, post the codes back here. First, clear any and all codes, and find out which ones will not clear, that will pinpoint the problem.

        Incorrect gear ratio = 322. Happens all of the time, replace that PNP!

      on 850 95, trans codes read: 114, 124, 323. Can you tell me what this means?
      Shop says flush might ??? help, worth the chance.

        114 = Program selector fault
        124 = Mode selector fault
        323 = No such code, probably a 313, which means that you need a new PNP switch.

        So, a new PNP switch is in order. The tell tale for a new PNP switcch is that the backup lights no longer come on when the tranny is put in reverse. That happens before you will ever see a checck engine light.
