Tired of the turbo, and turning to the wolfsburg side. 850 1996

Ladies and Gentlemen...I beleive I have had it with my beloved 850 turbo.

Without going into a wide list of all the problems this car has, how bad is it to sell a car with a broken odemeter? Problematic spedometer? What *HAS* to work for me to trade this car?

Le Sigh.

It will take you less than 1/2 hour to remove the instrument cluster. Probably a slow 1/2 hour to replace the plastic odometer wheel (about $20) and have a working odometer.
Otherwise, the prospective owner will have to go to Volvo to find out what the real milage is. As you know, it is stored in the ECU.

If you are going to "trade in" your car at a dealer, then do nothing but clean the inside and give the outside a bath. They will give you auction price for the car, much less than you think it is worth.

I would never sell my car with known defects, but then, I would never trade in of my cars at a dealer either.
