1998 V70 T5 V70-XC70 1998

I would like to know if anyone has ever removed the door panel on this wagon? I have a Chiltons book (worthless) and it doesn't go into detail. I also would like to find out if anyone ever fixed the door locks on this vechicle? I recently had someone grab the door handel as I was trying to unlock the door and the lock will not work at all in the UNLOCK position. It will however lock perfectly.
Thanks very much

Here is a link that will take you through the process:

After you get the panel off, you may find that several of the plastic "blocks" that were glued to the actual panel have come loose. There seemed to be a problem with the environmentally friendly glue used at the factory. I reglued mine with GE RTV Silicone Auto Seal (Clear) at it worked fine.

Good luck!

Greetings:
I'm on my way out the door, so I can't zero in on your question as I'd like to; however: Google "Volvo Door Panel Removal", and find that there's a ton of info out there on the topic. VolvoSpeed has a few pix, and I know that there's a great pictorial on the subject to be found - I just can't remember where. If you don't find what you're looking for, post again, and I'll boot up my other box, where I keep an archive of topical Volvo info. Hope this helps.

Darn, another piece of plastic bites the dust. You will probably need a new lock mechanism.
Check your local library and see if they subscribe to Alldata. Then all you need to do is invest in 10cents to print the page. There is no longer a good manual since it is now in CD form, which you can get on Ebay. They sell pirated versions, just make sure you get one for 1998 or newer.

"They" sell pirated versions? I guess someone out there may be interested in knowing who "they" are ;)

Just kidding ~ it looked funny.
