Valve cover removal 850

I am pulling the cylinder head off to replace the head gasket(blown). I can't seem to get the valve cover off after removing all those bolts. I have tapped on it and broken part of it loose off of the dowels but the back part is being difficult. Any suggestions???

Thanks in advance...

It is glued on, no gasket, so just pry slowly.

I recall the most tedious part of the whole process on my dad's S90 was putting the new gasket maker/glue on....probably took an hour just to get that stuff in all of the little spots where it should be. Then you have to make sure it doesn't dry on you!

Remembering back to when I did a head gasket on a S90, I think I wedged a screwdriver into the little edge lumps that seem to be there for this purpose. Obviously don't just go ramming the screwdriver wherever, but there are a few tabs at the edges that should be useable.

    Good luck.

Thanks Nate-I'll give it a try. There are the tabs there and I thought of using them, but I thought I should see what others have done.
