Can anybody recommend a repair shop in Detroit area which is not affiliated with Volvo dealership?

    There is a guy in Berkely, on Coolidge south of 11 Mile, but I know nothing about him. The place is loaded with Volvo's, mostly rear wheel drive. I hear good reports but that he is not cheap. The name "Cameron" comes to mind.

    Also at 7 Mile and Telegraph is "Volvo Only" owned by Ed. He is very knowledgeable on rear wheel drive and reasonable. The neighborhood is sketchy.

    Swedish Engineering in Ann Arbor is just as expensive as the dealer, from my own experience. And, it's a little haul from Bloomfield Hills.

    What kind of work do you need done?

      Thank you for the info. I just purchased a Volvo V70 and I want to follow recommended maintenance schedule. For 45,000 maintenance, the dealership asked for $260 and Swedish Engineering $192 which I think is high for an oil change and cabin filter change.

      From what you say, Volvo Only woulc be th way to go. I hope that they know FWD Volvos as well.
