headlight wiper motor. 850

Would a motor from 93 fit into a 97?

i fooled with my wiper motors for a month and had all sort of difficulties, my anal retentive nature was starting to take me down an expensive path just so i could have an mechanical option that i lived without for 40 years.

my wiper motors are unplugged and they look fabulous! i figure that if the headlamps are so dirty that it is affecting my ability to see, that i likely also need to wash the car and the windshield!

good luck!

Probably. But they are different from side to side, and the passenger side is a bear to get off/on.

What Klaus said.

The passenger side motor on my '95 855t died so I purchased a replacement through ebay. This was several years ago btw. I asked the seller several times to confirm it was a passenger side motor and was told it was.

After removing the headlight, washer tank, ECU compartment, etc. etc, etc, I finally had the new motor in and everything back together. Care has to be taken with the ECU wiring harnesses as there isn't much slack to move things around.

Anyway, got in the car, hit the HL wipers and you guessed it, the wiper went down, not up and across the HL. It was a driver's side motor. I went through the entire process again to pull it out and noticed the marking indicating which side it's for. I forget now what the marking is or where it is.

I've decided that HL wipers, for my climates, are pointless expenses that look nice but are too much a PITA to deal with. Both of mine are now disconnected.

In Michigan or Cleveland they might be useful but I lived in Memphis at the time. They didn't work well for bullets or BBQ sauce.

Cheers,

Erwin, now in Roanoke
