CV joint noise 850 1995

my CV joints have started making the crunchy/clicky sounds. they only do when i am turning corners under power. the boots are sound and intact still but i know there was a repair of both boots a few years ago.

are there any issues/problems driving with this condition (except for the sound of course)? does the noise/vibration cause other thing to wear earlier?

thanks for reading,

The CV joints take ALL of the brakeing and acceleration loads. The noise will only get worse and if ignored long enough the joint will fail and come apart leaving NOTHING to control where the wheel is pointed. If this happens going down the freeway you are in deep Bandini to say the least. Better get it fixed ASAP.

When the CV joint breaks the only thing that happens is loss of power. You will be able to steer, in this case to the shoulder because you will be stranded. The only way to loose steering will be to break a tie rod. Needless to say you should replace the joint, you want to avoid being stranded.
