question Air Bag- Horn I am replacing contacts for horn 850 1995

Horn always on.

Concerned about the air bag and either setting it off or not reinstalling it back.

My Plan (never seen the steering wheel setup)

- disconnect battery.
- Remove torx screws and steering
- disconnect air bag and place in safe place.
- assess damage and gerry rigger something like (www.odometer gears set up)
- reassemble and tighten the right torx first- complete.

Major concern is the air bag.

Madness

Be sure to pull the steering wheel all the way out to give yourself some extra room.

Before you pull the wheel, get a replacement horn ring. That is what breaks on the 850. Easy fix.
Pull the ground strap on the battery and take a 10 minute break. Then work on the steering, with the key in your house. When you are all done, reconnect the battery and go inside and get the key. From the passenger seat, insert key to posII and then hit the horn. Turn off, take another well deserved break, you are done.
