New owner advice V70-XC70 2003

Hi all,

I had a 240 wagon for about 6 years. She was good to us, but in the end there was too much to do for it to be cost effective. We took the plunge and bought a used XC70 '03. I wonder what general advice people have about this car. Anything really.

Thanks,

Yaleh.

I think you will enjoy your XC. I am on my second; the first was a 98’ had some small problems with the car. I drove it 98,000 miles. I am currently driving a 04’ and it just turned 70,000 miles. Remember the XC has a lot of parts to it and you have to keep it up.

We have had our 2002 XC70 for almost 2 years. Only one problem, which I knew of when I bought it. There is a turbo boast valve mounted near the intake air filter box. They often fail every 30,000 to 50,000 miles. a cheap part ($50 to $70) that is easy to replace yourself. I got the car for less as they did not know what the problem (surges during acceleration) was caused by. That is all I did to it since. Very trouble free, and fantastic, car. I have owned 850's, V & S70's, and a 940 over the last 14 years. While great cars, they all had their share of things to fix each year. We are very happy with our latest. We also pull a tent trailer effortlessly.

      Enjoy.
