PCV valve? S70

Does anyone know if my S70GLT 1999 have a pcv valve? I have 84,000 miles and wondered...if i have one when i should change it and what i looks like, where i find it?

You wont find one in your car, it doesn't exist. What you do have is an oil separator box, and if you use non-synthetic oils and never run the engine hard and hot, sludge will build up and plug up the box and the breather lines.

Make it good practice to use synthetic oils, change the filter frequently (5K miles). I try to change the filter at 5K intervals and drain the oil at 10K miles, give or take 1K miles. I also drive above 2K rpm once the engine warms up and I am not stuck in stop and go traffic.

It is almost time for you to replace the gas line filter. It is cheap and easy to do.

Klaus,
Oh, that is why i never could find something that even resembled a pcv valve. Yes, i do use only synthetic oil. Mobile 1.

Now about that fuel filter. I think its under the car somewhere, is it hard to get at or hard to do? I would think there is 2 clamps and a fuel filter but there must be some metal cage holding the filter in place that you might have to remove?

Never did this before.....the manual says, ...100k miles i think but should i do it sooner?

I think a 17mm wrench can fit between the filter and the coupling to help push the coupling apart. Clean off as much undercoating and dirt as possible before you attempt to uncouple the fuel lines. If the engine hasn't been run for a few hours, there won't be any fuel pressure to push fuel out of the line.

Keep a rag handy to catch any dribbles of gasoline, and wear safety glasses to keep the dirt out of your eyes.

Thank you for the url for the fuel filter.
I will try doing this later next year. I dont drive as much as i used to now due to high fuel prices.
