xc90 headlights "Foggy'

the acrylic/plexiglass or whatever headlight housings on my xc90 have a film/fading/cloudy appearance. Any suggestions how to remove this? Thanks

A valid question.

Do you wash your car or is it car washed? If you DIY, what kind of soap do you use?
Have you ever used wax on the lenses?

Good question. The film seems to be on the outside; it looks like aging/crystalization in the material itself more than anything that might be simply wiped ore even scrubbed off.. I usually wash the car myself with a meguiar's wash, but I am the second owner and don't know what the previous owners did for the first 4 years. No wax on the lenses.

A very fine polishing compound might do it. Test it in a small area first.
White tooth paste is a good compound along with a damp cloth.

I haven't heard of the new plastic lenses going opaque so soon.

Thanks! I'll give it a try and post my results.
