Broken signal directional lever 850 1994

I have broken the signal directional lever at the steering column. I looking for a tip on replacing the lever / switch. Is this a 30 minute or 3 hour undertaking? I am searching the local area to find a replacement lever / switch.

There are 2 types of switches, cruise control or not. Make sure you get the right one.
The clamshell cover over the steering column needs to be removed. 4 Torx screws, 2 different sizes (?). And the two closest to the wheel are recessed about 5 inches. Some 850 owners have purchased a really cheap Torx driver, broken off the plastic handle and made it into a very long drill bit!!

Sorry, I forgot the sizes. Either T15, T20, or T25.

It is a 30 minute job, minus getting those 2 screws out.

The recessed screws are either T 10 or 15, the other 2 are 25s. sears sells a long torx screwdriver. the worst part of the job is getting the 2 recessed screws out. you have to use the brail method as they are hidden from view. 30 minute job. Oh, and i have never seen a USA 850 without cruise, it was standard on just about all cars. in canada it was an option.
