I got a keyless remote for my 1995 Volvo 850 GLT (None Turbo)
This one is square and has square buttons side to side. I cant
read the fcc id cause its worn off. cw--w816?

Well I got it working but my dash light never flashed or went solid.
Now I got to figure out why it doesnt unlock or lock the drivers door.
Do you think its just a actuatior?

Get in your car and close the door. Put key in ignition and turn the key to posII 5 times, the 5th time leave it in "ON". Watch the red light on the center of the dash, if it turns on you can then push either the lock or unlock button on the remote. The red light should then blink rapidly for a few seconds before going solid red again. Then pull the key out of the ignition and push the remote to lock or unlock the car. That's it.

I have tried that the light doesnt go solid or flash.
It will flash if I lock the doors from the outside though.
Does anyone know the right fcc id # for my car?

Keep using your key. The transciever is inoperable. If you find another transceiver in a junk yard, make sure it has the same numbers as the old one. Not all 1995s are the same.
My 1995 850 had the same problem, but the key works just fine and takes up less room in my pocket.

So you think its the alarm brain thats not unlocking my door?
All others open with the key and keyfob but the actual drivers door.
If I unlock the trunk all doors but the drivers will unlock.
Really sounds like either I have a broken wire in the door hinge or the
actuatior is dead. My drivers door snaps when I open it all the way.

Excuse me. I was under the impression the remote didn't work.

If the driver's door doesn't unlock, it is time to trace down the wires.

The door "snapping" when opening all the way is either the weld on the door hinge or you are in need of a new door strap.

It must be the actuator in the drivers door thats failing.
I can unlock and lock all locks from the drivers door w key
and from the inside too.
