Tranny code S70 T5 1998 S70

I'm interested in a 98 S70 T5. its about 150 miles away from me. When I talked to the dealer he told me that the CEL had thrown an "internal transmission" code and that he had ordered parts and was having it fixed. The interesting part was that he said when he drove the car it seemed to drive fine. I have the impression that the fix required some kind of an internal module.

Any thoughts about this one? The car will have a 1 year warranty covering the engine and transmission, and has service records, the belts have been changed. car has about 111K miles,

Regards

Woody

    Tranny code S70 T5 1998 S70

Tough question. Is this a Volvo dealer? Can he give you the code number? The only "internal" faults that I can see are for the torque converter. If he "fixes" it, will he flush the fluid?
The T5 is a very desireable car and fun to drive. Verify that it hasn't been wrecked. If it is not being sold by a Volvo dealer, get it inspected by one prior to sale. They will list all sorts of problems, most of which will not be an issue.
