Hi,

I desperately want a D5 diesel powered V70 but alas, all we have over here are D5 powered S60's and petrol engined V70's. How difficult would it be to swap the D5 form a 2002 S60 into a 2003 V70 ? Is everything simply bolt together and are there big differences on the dash etc? I'm wondering if the wiring and computer differences would prove impossible to get right.

That was written in 2003, and we still don't have a diesel Volvo in the USA. It is a shame, it is a very good engine. Of course, over here, diesel fuel costs more than premium gasoline!

It would be cheaper if you converted the current engine to natural gas. You are correct, the wiring would be a royal pain.
In the "good ol USA", the only diesels are from VW and Mercedes.
