Transmission oil level V70-XC70

After the drive axle disaster, I guess I need to change the transmission fluid. There is no dipstick on any of our 3 V-70s, only a tubing cap with a knob on it. Does anyone know the level measurement? Already know about the specs for the fluid-no, we will not buy it from the dealer!!

There's a tranny dipstick in your car though not exactly visible. ;-) If you open the hood and look then it'll be on the right (driver) side of the engine, deep under the air intake hose. It has bright yellow tip.

There is a tranny fill plug, but no dipstick attached to it. I can use a welding rod, but need to know dimension.

Interesting... mine is 2001 5 spd auto and it has a dipstick. The "hot" line is 5 and 3/8 inches from the mouth, the "cold" one is 7 1/4.

Many thanks; the dimensions are exactly what I needed.

I'm a novice, but it would be nice if you would say what year, and if A or M????
