94 850 No Spark, No Fuel--Antitheft? 850 1994

Still troubleshooting a no start problem on my '94 Turbo 855. Engine cranks but no spark and no injector pulse. I'm trying to figure out what to troubleshoot and it would help to eliminate the antitheft/alarm systems if they only inhibit the starter motor function. I posted the full background on Swedespeed with no takers, so will try the short version question here:
Will the antitheft or alarm system inhibit the spark and injectors or is it limited to the starter motor?

Thanks,
John

OK, It lives! Dealer's mech, Phil got it running w/o much trouble by simply replacing the crank position sensor with the original part. Here's what I think happened.....when it didn't start and no spark or injector pulse, I immediately went after the CPS and CMP sensor with pick 'n' pull parts. Actually I think that the no-start problem was a bad ground at the terminal strip right in front of the battery which got disturbed during the hood cable work. While that had it disabled, I replaced the CPS with (unknown to me) a bad part. From that point on, nothing worked and I failed to go back to baseline prior to taking it to the dealer. So, $150 well invested in an education. As I said in the original post.....it was self-inflicted!

The immobilizer only kills the starter. If the engine is cranking then the immobilizer is not at fault. No spark and no injector pulse makes me think the cam position sensor is bad. Unfortunately it will often not set a code when if fails completely as the engine needs to be running for it to see the fault but the engine won't start without it.

Any fault codes? I'm wondering about the alarm system.....as long as no one tried braking into the car and you didn't have to turn the alarm off.....I wouldn't think it would be something to worry about....how many miles on the car? Has the fuel pump been replaced?

Drove the car into the garage to fix broken hood latch cable and replace left front fender. It may think I was breaking into it since I toggled the hood latch many times and also used transmission shift override to take it out of park to move it with the battery removed. 120k miles, lots of fuel spray out of the schrader valve with ignition on, so I should get something...
Trying to focus and am looking for a definitive answer as to whether the basic antitheft also inhibits spark/injectors as opposed to only the starter motor...anyone know about this?

It seems like the entire engine is grounded to the left front fender. Double check your grounds in front of the brake cylinder and for the coil. If the ground nut is on top of paint, then remove the paint before tightening the screw.

Hey, great link there----gives me some good test to try for getting the alarm system to work, but still don't know if that's the source of my problem...
