Strut Brace 850 1997

Hi, I've happily received my OE strut brace from an eBay auction, and am wondering if there's any kind of gasket material that gets installed atop the strut towers? Or, is the metal on metal installation the way it goes. Wa'd ya think? Thanks very much.

If you are worried about scratching and rust, stop at your local hardware store and get a thin plastic washer. Otherwise, the installation doesn't call for any thing.

Wax the brace before you put it on, it helps keep the dirt off.

Strut Brace - easy and well worthwhile 850 1997

I installed a stock Volvo brace on my 99 V70 when it was new. Because the car was new and tight, I can't say for sure that it made the steering feel any different, but it was a modest cost addition. A number of mechanics said they had never seen a brace on a Volvo. IPD makes a stiffening rod to go across the rear under the deck, but I've never heard of anyone who installed one or could comment on it.
