My "new" 1994 dark blue 850 wagon has a blacked-out trim which runs front to back on both sides of the roof. This seems to be a black film that is applied over the regular trim, mine has started cracking and peeling. Anyone know how to properly restore that blacked out trim?

After pulling off the strips, don't forget to clean and wax the roof underneath.

The best way I have seen is to remove both pieces, use Scotchbrite to clean off all of the old residue, and then paint them with bumper paint.
