fuel rail bolts 850

I have a 97 850 SE and notice my fuel rail cover has two bolts securing it as normal but there is an extra hole in the middle of the cover. I have owned two 850 sedans previously and do not remember seeing this third hole in either of them. Is it likely the previous owner drilled this hole or does it have a purpose I don't know about? Would be glad to hear from anyone who might know

My 1995 850 had this hole. It was to secure a plastic vacuum line which ran under the rail from the pressure regulator to the tree. No bolt or screw, just a plastic insert from underneath.

Thanks for your quick reply Klaus. Should I assume that as there is a hole I should have the vacuum line? I don't see one at all.

      Thank again

      Tony

Sometime in 1996, Volvo rerouted the vacuum line and put the pressure regulator in the rear of the car. Frugal Volvo is never one to replace parts when they still have them in the supply chain, so the hole is still there :)
My 1998 did not have the hole.
