Turbo Intercooler Tubing Clamp Slides Off S70 1998

I'm referring to the black rigid tubing (about 2" dia) that comes up over the top of the engine. I think it's called the intercooler tube? ...

Anyway, the tube transitions into a piece of rubber hose on the firewall side. Because of an apparent slight bevel on this rubber hose, the clamp wants to slide off when tightened. I've tried cleaning off any grease & oil, and even if I'm able to get it to "stay", it pops off with minimal boost pressure.

With no clamp, I can only get about 5 psi, versus 9-10 psi normally.

Anyone else run into this? Thanks for any help.

The hard tubing should have a lip on it and the clamp must be forward of the lip when tightened. Those 2 sections are hard to get together, very little extra length on the flexible portion.
If you have had the flexible portion disconnected from the turbo, perhaps you have too much on the turbo end. The clamps must be very tight to hold the charged air pressure.
If all you took off was the hard section, loosen the forward part and clamp the rear section first.

Klaus, in response to your suggestions:
The clamp is positioned correctly on the rubber hose, with respect to the lip on the end of the hard tubing. There is not too much on the turbo end.
I just tried again today, still no luck. To further clarify, the outside diameter of the rubber hose tapers down slightly toward the hard tubing. So, when the clamp is tightened, the clamp slides down the taper and off the rubber piece on to the hard tubing. The rubber hose (OEM 9179002) has no lip molded on the end to prevent this. I'm not sure how a new hose would be any different. ??

Times like this I miss having my R as a reference.
The soft part of the piping needs stick out past the clamp by at least 1/4 inch. If you haven't already, unscrew the clamp that holds the piping above the engine cover to give you a small amount of wiggle room. Slide the hard pipe about 1/2 inch into the flex pipe and tighten the clamp, hard.
Then go back and reposition the hold down clamp over the valve cover.

I went ahead and purchased a new molded rubber hose piece from FCP. This one did not have any taper on it, plus it was much more pliable (old hoses sometimes get that glazed, hard surface over time). So finally, the clamp stays on. Nice to have 10 psi again!
Thanks anyway for the suggestions, it didn't hurt to try those things first.
