Front coil spring broken V70-XC70

Has anybody heard of a coil spring breaking. My 01 XC70 just broke the left front coil spring. The part is about $130.00 from the dealer. Does anybody have experience on replacing one? Thanks, Darryl

    Very rare, but it can happen. You will need a spring compressor to do the job. My first time took me about 2 hours per wheel to replace the struts. You also need to replace the top spring seat, so get a replacement for an XC90, they fit and are a lot better.
    You will need an alignment afterwards.
    Depending on the mileage, you might want to consider replacing the struts for both front wheels.
